HTI Mawson Pty Ltd has lodged plans for a mixed-use development in the ACT suburb of Mawson, located in the Woden Valley district. The proposed project will feature 92 apartments across two buildings and includes commercial spaces such as offices, indoor recreation, and a café. The development is currently open for public consultation.

Designed by Oztal Architects, the project will consist of a four-storey building and a six-storey building. Building A will house 780 square meters of commercial space, while Building B will offer a combined 1,315 square meters of office and retail space. The 92 apartments will range from one to four bedrooms, with some units being adaptable. The development will also provide two levels of basement parking, totaling 214 bays.
The developers amalgamated two blocks, one previously occupied by the Serbian Cultural Club, to create the site for this project. The mixed-use nature of the development aims to provide active living and enhance the urban environment by incorporating a range of business and residential uses. HTI Mawson Pty Ltd is seeking a lease variation that would allow for these diverse uses on the site.
According to a statement from Canberra Town Planning, the development will offer "high levels of building amenities, including pedestrian accessibility, communal spaces, facilities, and services." It is expected to support local workforce and employment growth, contribute positively to the urban environment, and maintain high-quality interfaces with the public domain.
The Woden Valley area, located southwest of Canberra's CBD, has been experiencing significant growth. Last year, plans for a $146-million redevelopment of the Hellenic Club, including a 151-key hotel, were approved. Additionally, amended plans for a 16-storey residential development in the town center have been submitted this year.
The proposed Mawson development reflects ongoing investment and expansion in this growing district.
